BrokerPro is expanding its accounting connectivity through a new integration with [Rutter](https://rutter.com/), a unified accounting API trusted by companies including PayPal and Mercury. Through a single, standardized integration layer, Rutter gives BrokerPro a standardized, scalable path to connect with many of the major accounting and ERP systems used by freight brokerages.

Most TMS platforms only support a handful of accounting integrations. When a freight brokerage uses something outside that short list, the answer is usually a manual workaround or an expensive and time-consuming custom build. We built this integration because we believe your TMS should work with your accounting system, not the other way around.

**What this means for freight brokerages:** BrokerPro’s Rutter-based architecture allows us to support a much broader range of accounting environments without building and maintaining every connection independently. Platform and workflow availability varies.

## Platforms Now Supported Through Rutter

No two freight brokerages run their back office the same way. Some have grown into enterprise-grade ERP platforms. Others rely on mid-market accounting tools that fit their size and workflows. The Rutter integration is designed to meet brokerages where they are.

Through Rutter’s unified accounting API, BrokerPro can now support connectivity with platforms including:

- [**NetSuite**](https://www.netsuite.com/) (Oracle NetSuite ERP)
- [**Sage**](https://www.sage.com/) (Sage Intacct, Sage 50 Accounting, Sage 200 Cloud, and Sage Business Cloud Accounting)
- [**Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central**](https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-365/products/business-central)

These platforms are commonly used by mid-size to enterprise freight brokerages that have outgrown entry-level accounting tools. Rutter’s standardized API layer means BrokerPro TMS can connect to these systems without building and maintaining a separate integration for each one.

Beyond expanding to new platforms, the Rutter integration has also allowed us to harden and improve how BrokerPro works with QuickBooks Desktop and QuickBooks Online. By moving these connections to Rutter’s standardized API layer, we can better adhere to industry best practices and deliver a more reliable, consistent experience. All new customers will start on the Rutter-based framework from day one. Over the coming months, we will migrate existing QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online customers to the new framework so they can benefit from those improvements as well.

## Why Accounting Connectivity Matters for Freight Brokerages

Freight brokerage is an operationally intensive business. Load execution, carrier payments, customer invoicing, and back-office reconciliation all need to move in sync. When the TMS and the accounting system do not communicate, that gap creates manual work: double data entry, delayed invoicing, and reconciliation errors that slow down the close process.

Connecting BrokerPro directly to a brokerage’s accounting system closes that gap. Financial data flows from load execution into the accounting platform without requiring manual export and re-entry, which reduces errors and gives finance teams a more accurate, real-time view of the business.

**Freight brokerages don’t all run the same accounting system, and they shouldn’t have to change that to use BrokerPro. Rutter gives us the infrastructure to support a much broader range of accounting environments at scale.**

## Getting Started

Supported workflows and data-sync capabilities depend on the specific accounting platform and integration configuration. Not every platform supports every workflow, and setup requirements will vary.

Customers interested in connecting BrokerPro to their accounting system can [contact our team](/contact-us/) to discuss their specific needs and determine what is available for their platform.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What accounting systems does BrokerPro connect with?

BrokerPro supports QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, and the new Rutter integration expands our accounting connectivity to platforms such as NetSuite, Sage, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Because Rutter works as a unified accounting API, it gives BrokerPro a scalable way to connect with a wider range of accounting environments.

### What ERP systems can BrokerPro support through Rutter?

Through Rutter, BrokerPro can support connectivity with enterprise and mid-market ERP platforms including NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Sage 50 Accounting, Sage 200 Cloud, Sage Business Cloud Accounting, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central. Availability can vary by platform and configuration, so customers should contact our team to confirm fit for their environment.

### Why did BrokerPro add Rutter instead of building separate integrations?

Rutter gives BrokerPro a standardized integration layer, which means we can support more accounting environments without building and maintaining a separate connection for each system. That matters because freight brokerages do not all run the same back-office stack, and we want BrokerPro to adapt to their systems, not force a change.

### Does BrokerPro support QuickBooks after the Rutter integration?

Yes, and the integration has made those connections better. Rutter’s standardized API layer has allowed us to better adhere to industry best practices in how we work with QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online, improving the reliability and consistency of those integrations. QuickBooks and QuickBooks Online remain fully supported and continue to be actively maintained and improved.

### How broad is BrokerPro’s accounting connectivity?

BrokerPro’s Rutter integration is designed to support a broader range of accounting and ERP platforms than a traditional one-off integration approach. Exact availability depends on the platform, required workflows, and implementation configuration.

### How does the integration help finance teams?

The integration reduces manual data entry between operations and accounting, which can help lower reconciliation errors, speed up invoicing, and give finance teams a cleaner view of load activity as it moves through the brokerage.
